Before you start. Up to about 100 MB on a computer. Clears the document information fields, the XMP packet that repeats them, any attached file, any script stored in the file, actions that run when it opens or closes, and the private working data that design programs leave behind. Text inside the pages, comments and bookmarks are left as they are, and a photo inside the file keeps its own EXIF block.

How it works

The file is opened and its document information fields are read, so the result can tell you what was found, then each one is blanked. The XMP packet, any attached file, any script, any action that runs by itself, the private working data design programs leave behind and the file identifier are deleted outright, and everything nothing reaches any more is dropped from the file. The dates are reset.

What does a PDF store about me?
