How it works

Each picture is re-encoded at the quality you choose. WebP produces the smallest files and is supported by every current browser; JPG is the safest choice if the file must work everywhere. A picture that would come out larger is returned unchanged, with a note. With a target size, each picture gets the highest quality that fits, and is made smaller in pixels only when that is not enough.

Which format should I pick?

WebP is typically 25 to 34 per cent smaller than JPG at the same visible quality. Choose JPG only if the file must open in very old software.

What quality setting is right?

Around 80 is almost indistinguishable from the original. Below 60 you will start to see it, particularly on flat colour and text.

Can I compress to a set size, such as 50 KB?

Yes. Choose Target size and type the size in KB. Each picture gets the highest quality that fits, and is made smaller in pixels only if it must be. There are ready pages for 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB and 200 KB.

Can I do many at once?

Yes. Drop in as many as you like and download them together.

Are my photos uploaded?
